The Roots of Storytelling

At the core of Siembra Connect lies a simple yet profound truth: everything we build, every connection we cultivate, stems from the stories we tell. Strip away the accolades, the stages, the partnerships, and what remains is the pure, insatiable hunger to share our experiences, perspectives, and truths with the world.
This hunger isn't just a desire—it's a need, an instinct, a calling.
My “Siembra “style of storytelling inspired by this idea, focuses on:
Authenticity Over Applause
Every post, podcast episode, newsletter, or video is crafted with a storyteller’s authenticity. This isn’t about what gets the most likes; it’s about what resonates deeply, what feels honest and human.Story First, Strategy Second
Before we consider a call to action or a content strategy, we lead with the story. It's about starting with the narrative that matters most, trusting that the right audience will connect.Rooted in Hunger, Driven by Passion
We lean into the raw, unpolished moments—where passion meets vulnerability. This is the space where true connection is cultivated. Every Siembra initiative begins by asking: “What story needs to be told here?”A Chapter Yet to Be Written
Siembra is always evolving. The story doesn’t stop with today’s accomplishments. It’s about leaving room for growth, for imagination, and for the next chapter—literally and figuratively.Community as the Co-Author
Siembra Connect isn’t just one person’s story; it’s a collective narrative. By inviting others to share their voices and experiences, we create something greater than ourselves.
Your Invitation to Join the Collective
Last week, Valerie Evans was the first Siembra Cultivator to share her powerful voice in our newsletter, and it sparked a wave of inspiration and connection.
Now, we're inviting you to do the same.
What’s your next chapter?
What’s the story you’ve been waiting to tell? Whether it’s a personal journey, a lesson learned, or an insight that could help others grow, we want to hear it.
If you’d like to contribute to the Siembra Connect newsletter, email us your idea or story at [email protected] with the subject line “Siembra Contribution.”
If you would like to contribute financially to this platform, email me [email protected] to discuss.
Let’s cultivate this community together, one story at a time.

Siembra Lesson: Telling Your Story of Resilience
Everyone has a story. And often, the most powerful ones are rooted in the moments when life knocked us down, but we got back up. These stories aren’t just about adversity; they’re about growth, resilience, and the lessons that come with them.
This lesson is about helping you tell that story—the one that shaped you, the one that might help someone else find the strength to keep going.
Why Your Story Matters
Sharing your story isn’t just cathartic—it’s impactful. It:
Helps you process what you’ve been through.
Gives others hope and inspiration.
Connects you with people who see themselves in your journey.
How to Tell Your Story of Resilience
Use these exercises to explore a pivotal moment in your life and craft a story that’s raw, real, and uniquely yours.
1. The Turning Point
Start by identifying the moment when everything changed.
Ask yourself:
What’s one challenge I faced that felt like a breaking point?
What made that moment so pivotal?
Prompt:
Describe the moment. Where were you? What did it feel like? What were you thinking?
Example:
“I remember sitting in my tiny apartment, surrounded by unopened bills. I felt like I was drowning, but I knew I had to do something to change my situation.”
2. The Struggle
Every great story has conflict. Dig into yours.
Ask yourself:
What obstacles did I face during this time?
How did I feel in the thick of it?
Prompt:
Write about the hardest part of your journey. Be honest—what scared or frustrated you the most?
Example:
“There were days I wanted to give up. It felt like no matter how hard I tried, I was stuck in the same place.”
3. The Breakthrough
Now, shift the focus to your moment of growth.
Ask yourself:
What changed? Was it a mindset shift, an opportunity, or something you did differently?
What helped me find strength or clarity?
Prompt:
Write about the moment you realized things could get better—or when they actually did.
Example:
“One day, I decided to write down my goals, even if they felt impossible. It was a small step, but it reminded me that I still had control over my story.”
4. The Lesson
Here’s where your story becomes a gift for others.
Ask yourself:
What did I learn from this experience?
How has it shaped who I am today?
Prompt:
Write about the lessons you took away and how they’ve influenced your life moving forward.
Example:
“I learned that resilience doesn’t mean never falling—it means getting up, even when it feels impossible. That experience taught me the power of persistence and self-belief.”
Your Story, Your Power
When you share your story, you’re not just looking back—you’re shining a light forward for someone else. The beauty of resilience is that it’s universal. Your story might be exactly what someone else needs to hear.
I’d love to feature your story of resilience in the Siembra Connect newsletter. If you feel ready, email me your story at [email protected] with the subject line “My Resilience Story.”
Note: the story can be submitted in the format of your choice, it can be in audio, video or written format.

As many of you may already know, my plans are to launch a YouTube channel to give you another option to get Siembra Connect content. In all of my years of working in this space, I have never even attempted to launch on YouTube… so when I did, I decided to tap into the voices I respect most in the space. One of those voices is Omar Takrori from The Dept.
I had just returned from Podfest Expo, and caught an email to a live that was in progress and signed up to the offer as I thought it was exactly what I need just days before I launch my channel. I am ready to become a real life case study.
