Hello Cultivators…
Today I Share A Lesson I Learned The Hard Way
Creators have an idea and they love to jump straight into paperwork.
The internet has promoted the idea that it’s simple… all you have to do is…
File the LLC.
Lock in the name.
Buy the domain.
Make it “official” and then you will be successful.
I promise you for most, its not that easy.
Story time… I incorporated a company long before the idea was ready, and it cost me clarity and momentum. That mistake is why I’m moving differently with Siembra Connect. The foundation has to be solid before anything becomes legal. Most people skip that part, and it will eventually show, one way or another.
The first thing I should have done… is what I’m doing now… is understand the real problems I’m solving. Not the surface-level problems that most coaches try to solve with basic “content tips”. The deeper one. The one that hits creators the hardest: burnout, confusion, and no real guidance for sustainable growth. Siembra Connect came from living that out, having it all then losing everything, So today, I am rebuilding with intention.
The next step was validating demand. I didn’t create surveys or build a funnel. I listened. The DMs. The coaching calls. The long messages from creators who felt overwhelmed, discouraged, or ready to quit. Those conversations made it clear that this platform wasn’t just a good idea — itis necessary for creators that want to build something sustainable,
Then I had to test the concept. That’s why this newsletter exists. Before filing any paperwork, I wanted to know if the message resonated. If people would open the emails. If they would respond. If the content would help. And you did. Your replies told me this community needed care, honesty, and strategy — not more noise.
After that, I had to look at the numbers. A business can’t just inspire you. It has to sustain you. Balancing being a flight attendant and building Siembra Connect forced me to be honest about time, energy, and revenue. What offers make sense? What keeps me healthy? What can grow with me?
That math continues to tell me what the brand needs long before any legal structure can.
Only then did I start shaping the identity. Not logos. Not colors. The core. What we stand for. Why we exist. What we promise creators who join this community. Siembra Connect is about planting ideas, nurturing creativity, and growing without chaos. That clarity really has to come before anything official.
And here’s the one thing you should never do:
Don’t incorporate because you feel behind or pressured. That’s how people end up with paperwork and no direction. Your legal structure should protect something with roots, not the draft, not the brainstorm, not the early spark you’re still shaping.
Incorporate your project when the brand is tested, and ready. Not one minute sooner. And if you’re building something that will have real impact, you deserve that same patience.
Sharing stories is good and all… but here is some actionable advice you can take so you can avoid making the mistakes I made.
A Helpful Place To Start:
The SBA Can Guide Your First Steps
If you’re in the early stages of shaping your idea, you don’t have to figure everything out alone. One of the most underrated tools for new creators and small business owners is the SBA. The resources at SBA.gov can walk you through the same steps I took before moving Siembra Connect toward incorporation.
You can get support with understanding your business model, learning what paperwork you’ll eventually need, exploring funding options, and finding free counseling through local Small Business Development Centers. These are real people who can sit with you, look at your idea, and help you shape a clear plan.
If you're building something with heart, something that serves your community, it’s worth tapping into the help that already exists. Before you file anything, get grounded, get informed, and get support from people who understand the process.
You don’t need to guess your way through the early stages. There are tools and programs designed to help you build a stable foundation — and the SBA is one of the best places to begin.
