Building Siembra Connect
Here are some of the tools I am using to build this community

Cultivators…
When I decided to commit to this newsletter, It was to create community around us doing what we love most… participating in the pursuit to leave this world better than we found it. Some of do this thru education, entertainment other do it by creating social movements to effect change. We are all creators in some way shape or form… I am focused on the creators that live on our times making a difference. I also promised that I would build it and share the process with you as I do it.
That said, this issue is dedicated to all the creators putting in the time, from brainstorming ideas at odd hours to perfecting the tiniest details in every post. We’re the ones juggling multiple hats: writer, photographer, editor, strategist, and community-builder. We dive deep into research, carve out time for engaging with followers, and stay on top of endless trends, often without skipping a beat.
To make it all happen, we tap into an arsenal of tools: AI assistants that help streamline our thoughts, apps that polish up our visuals, automation tools that manage our schedules, and productivity hacks that keep us moving forward. Every piece of content reflects a mix of creativity, strategy, and the power of these tools. Here’s to the countless little things that make up the big impact we create.
Today, I want to share some of these tools that literally have helped me rebuild my portfolio of web services after my devastating hacking incident two years ago where I lost my legacy site SofritoForYourSoul.com. I then started listening to all the chatter about algorithms and people getting deplatformed and I decided to take ownership of my audience so I reimagined a platform where you and Ihave a direct relationship no matter what happens on the social web.
Remember I am one of you…
Please share this with your creator friends.
As I am,
George Torres
Here is my current foundational ‘Tech Stack’ & the impact they have on my business
(and it did not even cost me $100 to get started)
(and website)
Beehiiv is the platform I chose for Siembra Connect after launching a previous newsletter on Substack, which had a lot of great features but I ultimately chose Beehiive because it addressed my monetization goals by providing me multiple ways to monetize before I reached my first 100 subscribers.
I am able to monetize by referrals to the platform, referrals to other newsletters and by getting sponsorship by companies vetted by Beehiiv Ad Network when you subscribe to the Growth package. I also do not lose the ability to sell my own sponsorship or affiliate links.
In less than two months 10 email issues and less than 100 subscribers I have already have 8 sponsors on and I may have enough sponsor interest to take me to keep it sponsored till December 31st.
Cost - $39.00 for Growth Plan
Revenue Potential - 12 month recurring revenue on platform referrals, Per click and CPC revenue on newsletter referals and sponsored ad conversions.
The Website / Booking Page
(for my coaching services)
Book Like A Boss -When I got hacked, it impacted all my booking pages and my ability to maintain the cash flow for my “Social Sofrito” courses / consulting.
This solved two issues, my need to get a real website up and running FAST, and the ability to keep my calendar booked with the ability to charge my clients at the time of booking. For the price this is a robust solution for coaches and consultants.
Cost: $24.16 for the Latte option but plans start at $7.50
(especially if you are a Calendly customer)
The Podcast
(launching soon)
In the next few weeks, I will be launching a podcast to accompany the newsletter with bonus content / interviews etc. I have chosen Spotify For Podcasters (formallyknown as Anchor FM). I have a 16 year history in podcasting, first with Capicu Radio, a live radio show that first lived on Blog Talk Radio and eventually on Urban Latino Radio. I then launched a show called Social Sofrito on Anchor FM that was short lived because of the Pandemic (a big mistake on my part).
Similar to Beehiiv, there is a built in ad network that can monetize you very early in the game. They also have a host of growth tools that are great for building an audience. The only tool I would bypass is the “one click” apple podcast submission. The reason is you want to own your data, and as your podcast grows you will need your subscriber info to be able to see advertising. (if you have questions about this, DM me).
Cost: $0.00
